A lumber package starts with your project: what you are building, the materials your plans specify, and when your crew needs them. Colonial Building Supply helps homeowners and contractors develop a material list, request current pricing, and coordinate deliveries from our Centerville, Utah yard.

That can mean a package for a garage, shop, addition, or a full home. It can also mean helping you identify the hardware and related products that need to be priced alongside the lumber.

Have a list ready? Request a lumber quote. Working from drawings? Start with Estimating and Takeoffs.

What should your lumber package include?

The contents depend on your supplied plans and the scope you ask us to quote. A package may include dimensional lumber, engineered wood, treated materials, sheathing, trusses, and the specified hardware.

Use this as a discussion checklist when reviewing the quote:

Material category What to review with Colonial
Framing lumber Specified dimensions, lengths, grades, and quantities.
Engineered wood and trusses The products specified in your plans, availability, and ordering schedule.
Sheet goods Wall, floor, and roof materials included in the quoted scope.
Treated lumber Where it is required and the treatment rating needed for that exposure.
Hardware and fasteners Specified connectors, anchors, hangers, nails, and screws.

Ask what is included, what is excluded, and which items need separate ordering. Our Lumber department can help with product questions; our treated-lumber guide explains common questions about water exposure and movement.

Turn your plans into a material list and current quote

If you need material counts, submit your plans through Colonial’s Estimating and Takeoffs service. The current request form requires plans that include engineering so the team can prepare accurate measurements and quantities.

If you are still figuring out the project, call the contractor desk first. Tell us what you are building and which decisions are unresolved. Our team can explain what information is needed to move toward a quote.

Lumber prices change, so request current pricing for your actual list. Colonial supports small quantities and larger orders; ask your representative about pricing for your package size and availability for any specialty products.

Coordinate delivery with the work happening onsite

You may want some materials at the start of construction and others when the next phase is ready. Talk with Colonial’s dispatch team or your sales representative about which items you need in each drop and when the site can receive them.

Describe the terrain, access, and intended unloading location before delivery. Those details help the team select the vehicle and unloading approach. If the build schedule changes, contact your representative or dispatch to review the arrangements.

Same-day delivery may be available for in-stock materials, depending on order timing and scheduling. Specialty items must be ordered and received first. Your representative will confirm timing for your order.

See our Utah lumber delivery guide for small-order options, site access, unloading, and published charges. Ask the team to confirm costs for your address and any staged drops.

Plan the products that come after framing, too

A garage or addition may also need windows, interior or exterior doors, or garage doors. Colonial supplies these departments as well.

Bring those needs into the conversation early so the appropriate team can discuss product choices and ordering. Confirm each department’s quote and schedule; these items are not automatically included in every lumber package.

Start with your plans, your list, or your questions

You do not have to know every product name before contacting Colonial. Tell us what you are building, your project location, the information you already have, and whether you need pickup or delivery.
